Your voice matters.

Golden Food Bank is a proud partner and convenor of the Golden Threads initiative. Together with community partners, our focus is to shed light on the untold stories of those living with less in our community, and to engage residents in the development of a Shared Agenda for Poverty Reduction.

If you are a resident of Golden or Area A who is currently struggling to make ends meet or has experienced living in poverty at some point in the past, we invite you to share your ideas, struggles, successes and experiences to inform our plan for community action! We are collecting first-hand stories and data through one-on-one interviews, a Wellbeing Survey, and interactive art-based events and installations. Participants with lived experience will be compensated for contributing with their experiences and ideas!

We start on July 6th with a free Community Art & Storytelling Forum at the Golden Civic Center. Registration is encouraged, and a $25 grocery gift card will be provided to the first 20 people who register on Eventbrite and participate at the event. For full details and to register, visit the event page through the link in our bio.

Your story has the potential to resonate deeply with others. To learn more about us and how to get involved, visit https://www.goldenthreadsbc.ca
